Re: Rosco Scheduled Plant & Shipment Closure / Coronavirus (COVID-19) Status Update

Dear Rosco Customers:

We hope you, your family, and company are healthy during these trying times.  Over the past two weeks Rosco has worked tirelessly to keep our employees healthy and our plant open, while also respecting all local, state, and federal guidelines on business operation and health & safety.  We are operating today as an essential supply chain manufacturer of vehicle components to our nation’s defense and transportation industries. We have sent prior correspondence regarding our status while also urging our customers to advance open orders and shipment dates so that we can get ahead of vehicle build schedules and requirements in the possible scenario that we would have to close at some point.  Fortunately, we are now ahead of schedules at most OEMs and our planning has been effective.  For those OEMs that have yet to allow us to ship early, PLEASE PAY CAREFUL ATTENTION TO THIS NOTICE.

In an effort to stay ahead of the COVID-19 pandemic as it is reaching its peak in New York, Rosco is taking a proactive measure to announce a planned plant closure.  Our plant and receiving/shipping operations will be closed from Wednesday April 1st, through Friday April 10th.  Our company (customer service, technical support, engineering, purchasing and financial departments) will be open as these employees are working from home effectively.  As a result, We ENCOURAGE all OEMs to continue to advance orders and shipments of product due at their locations through 4/15.  We will be working overtime daily and through this entire weekend to do our best to complete our last wave of early shipments to minimize impact to our customers.  We still have some capacity and suggest that if you have not yet advanced open orders, please do so immediately and we will try to accommodate those orders.

Thank you and stay well,

Rosco Coronavirus Update – Rosco is Open as an Essential Business

As new restrictions and implementations are put into effect nationally and regionally, Rosco would like to let you know that our company is still operating with the understanding that we are an essential business and critical manufacturer as defined by the Department of Homeland Security below. Until further notice, we are open for business on a day by day basis provided our factory, office, and staff continue to be safe and healthy.

Governor Cuomo has implemented a “100% work-from-home” policy for New York State effective March 22, 2020 with the exception of “any essential business of entity providing essential services or functions.” This includes: “essential infrastructure including utilities, telecommunication, airports and transportation infrastructure; essential manufacturing, including food processing and pharmaceuticals; essential retail including grocery stores and pharmacies; essential services including trash collection, mail, and shipping services; … vendors that provide essential services or products,”

As a critical manufacturer to industries supporting the essential emergency workforce, Rosco has an obligation and responsibility to continue our operations. The Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA), a division of the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) states, “Functioning critical infrastructure is imperative during the response to COVID’19 emergency for both public health and safety as well as community well-being. Certain critical infrastructure industries have a special responsibility in these times to continue operations.”

Rosco supports critical industries that need to be active and functional during National Emergencies. These industries include: defense/military, emergency services including first responders, and transportation systems.

While we remain operational, we have taken extra measures to ensure the safety of our staff and customers. To reduce health risk, we continue to institute best practice personal hygiene policies and continue to improve them as needed. We have also increased cleanings of our offices and factory, curtailed face to face meetings, constantly instruct and remind on proper social distancing, and have reduced our in-house office staff to 5-10% with the rest of the staff working remotely. The manufacturing team has been split into two separate shifts to reduce physical contact and improve social distancing.

We have created a protocol for any employees feeling ill on any level, or if they have family members experiencing the same. In addition, we have eliminated all international travel, eliminated all domestic air travel, and for those situations where car travel is essential and purposeful, have best practices and precautions in place to protect our employees and their families from heightened risk.

The above said, we do not know where things will be even one day from now in terms of impacting our ability to produce at unfettered levels for your production line and aftermarket part requirements. For the last two weeks, we have increased our hours to get as much of our customers’ future demand out as possible. Rest assured that we will continue to make these efforts going forward but please also be aware that things could change at any moment. We appreciate your understanding as we all work through these challenging times. We will continue to provide updates regularly.

Sincerely,
Benjamin Englander
